Homo floresiensis (Nicknamed “hobbit” and “Flo” is mainly a human with a hobbit-like body. Comically, a New Zealand scientist making a speech was told by the estate of J. R. R. Tolkien that he was not allowed to use the word “hobbit” in promoting his lecture.

It used stone tools, further exemplifying its similarity to humans. It was discovered on the island of Flores in 2003 by a Australian-Indonesian team looking for evidence of human migration.
